Blast Plasma Freezer

Freezing speed decides how much labile factor survives, so blood processing centres separate blast freezing from storage. This unit uses contact plates or forced air chilled to between –40 and –60 °C, bringing plasma cores to –30 °C within 60–90 min on a validated load. Each cycle takes 12–60 bags, tracked by 1–4 Pt100 probes.
