Indicator diagrams reveal valve delay, separation and the real work done per stroke. A 0–1.6 MPa cylinder sensor sampling at 2 kHz and a 360 pulse/rev crank encoder build live p–V and p–θ plots. The 50 × 50 mm pump runs at 30–150 rpm, and a DN25 flowmeter with 0–20 N·m torque sensor gives indicated and shaft power.
