Quartzite, basalt and large-diameter core can exceed 2000 kN at failure. This servo system delivers 3000 kN at ±1% accuracy from 2% of capacity, with load, stress or displacement control over a 150 mm stroke. A motorised crosshead gives 0–600 mm clearance and Ø 300 mm platens take core to 150 mm or blocks to 200 × 200 mm.
