Complex lysates and gradient gels resolve better over a longer path. This midi vertical system runs 1–2 gels of about 16 x 14 cm at 0.75–1.5 mm with 15, 20 or 26-well combs, in 1.5–3 L buffer. Runs take 2–4 h at 150–250 V, with up to 500 V DC and 400 mA.
