Alkalis that etch glass and inorganic reagents for shipping are better kept in polypropylene. These screw-cap bottles span 30–5000 mL with PP or PTFE-faced liners and withstand 121 °C autoclaving. They resist acids, bases and alcohols, though the vapour barrier is limited for solvents, so organic storage is not recommended.
