For small samples, sticky seed or anything that flows poorly through a cone divider, a riffle is the practical choice. Material passes 8–20 alternating chutes of 6–25 mm width and splits into two halves with RSD of 2% or better. Repeat until you reach working mass. Sample volume 0.1–10 L; stainless steel or aluminium.
