Metallographers examine polished and etched sections to assess grain size, inclusions, coatings and weld quality. Our metallurgical range includes upright and trinocular stands, brightfield and darkfield models, measuring microscopes with calibrated stages and portable units for on-site inspection of large parts. They support work to ASTM E3 for preparation, ASTM E407 for etching and ASTM E112 or ISO 643 for grain size.
