Small hospitals without a blood bank, and theatre or ED teams, can thaw one or two bags right where they are needed. This 5–10 kg unit uses a small heated chamber or water pocket at up to 37 °C with gentle rocking, thawing 250 mL FFP in about 15–30 min. An LCD shows the countdown.
