Standard orbital motion barely moves 10 µL in a 384-well plate. A double-orbital path with a 1–2 mm orbit at 100–1,000 rpm mixes 5–50 µL volumes thoroughly, usually within 5–60 seconds. It accepts 96-, 384- and 1536-well plates and is well suited to homogeneous assays and starting kinetic reads.
