Water-resistant boards must limit how much water the face takes up in a set time. Six stainless rings expose 100 cm² of board each under a 25 mm head for 2 h, sealed by rubber gaskets and bar clamps. Specimens are blotted with a 10 kg roller and weighed on the 2000 g × 0.01 g balance supplied.
