Matching glass to metal, or a ceramic substrate to its package, depends on accurate expansion data from bar specimens. This horizontal push-rod dilatometer accepts 25–50 mm samples and heats to 1600 °C, with contact force under 1 N and adjustable. Resolution is 10–100 nm. Choose an alumina or graphite tube, and air, argon, nitrogen or vacuum.
