Production lines, teaching labs and plastics or tobacco processors wanting simple moisture checks at low cost can use an infrared lamp balance. A 250–375 W IR lamp reaches 105 °C in about 2–3 min, operating at 50–160 °C. Readability is 1–10 mg with moisture shown to 0.01–0.1%. Drying ends on time or automatically at end point.
