Meat, fish, cheese and tomato paste hold a lot of water and dry slowly under radiant heat. This microwave analyzer heats 5–100 g samples at 2.45 GHz with power adjustable to 900 W, finishing in about 2–6 min. Moisture reads to 0.01–0.1%, with about 0.05–0.2% repeatability on 20 g. An infrared temperature sensor is optional.
