Coarse-grained rock gives scattered results on small discs, so research labs test larger diameters. This jig takes discs of 100–150 mm diameter and 50–75 mm thick, with interchangeable curved jaws for 100, 125 and 150 mm. Four guide posts in bronze bushings keep it aligned up to 500 kN, and a spherical seat corrects small misalignment.
