Dropped tools and foot traffic during roofing can puncture a membrane before it is ever covered. This tester drops a 500 g striker with a 12.7 mm hemispherical head from 50–2000 mm through a steel guide tube onto 200 × 200 mm specimens. An electromagnetic release and anti-rebound catcher give a single clean impact, and the sheet is then checked for leaks.
