Pendant Drop Optical Tensiometer

Small biological samples, oil–water systems and high-pressure studies suit drop-shape analysis rather than a ring or plate. This optical tensiometer reads 0.1–2000 mN/m from drops of 1–50 µL using a 1.3–5 MP camera at up to 100 fps. Cells cover −20 to 200 °C, and a 400 bar pressure option is available. Drop oscillation at 0.005–1 Hz gives dilational rheology.
