Hand augering firm clay or dry crust is slow and tiring, and a power head clears the hole in minutes. This earth auger runs a 52 cc, 1.7 kW petrol engine geared to about 200 r/min and takes 60, 100, 150 or 200 mm flights of 800 mm. Two 500 mm extensions reach about 1.8 m, and a centrifugal clutch protects the operators.
