For 3D aggregates, cartilage constructs and spheroids, shear is the enemy. This rotating vessel keeps cells in suspension with shear typically below 0.1 Pa, growing aggregates of about 100–500 µm. Working volume runs from 10 to 500 mL, and gas exchanges through a permeable membrane or silicone wall. Perfusion is optional.
