The J-ring gives a quick site check of passing ability using the same cone and plate as the slump-flow test. Sixteen Ø 18 mm bars, 100 mm high, stand on a 300 mm stainless ring with gaps of about 41 mm. A straight measuring bar with depth gauge records the step height between inside and outside the ring.
