Rolling a pycnometer by hand rarely removes all the air from fine or porous aggregate. This set places pycnometers in a 300 mm acrylic desiccator evacuated by a 20 L/min oil-free pump to below 4 kPa absolute. Two 1000 mL and two 500 mL pycnometers are included, with a digital gauge reading 0.1 kPa and an inline water trap.
