A roof has to carry the weight of workers during installation, keep rain out and hold down in high winds, and each of those is a separate test. We build corrugated sheet breaking load frames, roof tile transverse strength testers, water impermeability rigs, frost resistance chambers for clay tiles and wind uplift chambers for metal panels. Sheet profile, tile type and climate decide the set. Fibre-cement sheets are tested to BS EN 494 or IS 459, and clay tiles to BS EN 538 and BS EN 539-1.

How to specify

Give us your sheet length and profile pitch so the support span and loading beam fit the corrugations.
Soak fibre-cement specimens as the standard requires before breaking load tests.
Size the wind uplift chamber for a full panel width including side laps and fixings.
