Roof tiles must carry a roofer's weight across the batten span without cracking. This tester loads clay and concrete tiles to 10 kN at ±1% and 1 N resolution, over a 100–400 mm span on rubber-faced 20 mm bearers. Loading runs at 50–500 N/s, and packers adapt the bearers to profiled tiles.
