Automated Cell Block Processor

When cytology material is needed for IHC or molecular tests, a cell block avoids sending the patient for repeat biopsy. This processor builds blocks in standard cassettes from as few as about 50–100 cells, using plasma-thrombin, agar or matrix coagulants. Reagent exchange is automated, a run of 1–12 takes about 2–4 h, and blocks section at 3–5 µm.
