Longer columns and real section shapes need more load and slower, controlled travel than a bench strut rig. This floor frame applies 20 kN through a motorised screw at 0.5–20 mm/min to columns up to 1500 mm long. A ±0.5% load cell, an axial LVDT and two lateral LVDTs at 0.005 mm feed an 8-channel USB logger for full load-deflection records.
