Stabilised soil cylinders are far stronger than natural clay and need a stiffer, higher capacity machine. This 50 kN tester loads hydraulically at 0.05 to 5 kN/s with ±1% accuracy, using 160 mm hardened platens on a spherical seat. It accepts 50 × 100 mm, 71.1 × 142.2 mm and 100 × 200 mm cylinders within 260 mm clearance.
