Propped cantilevers are often the first statically indeterminate beams students meet, so measuring the prop force is the key. This apparatus clamps beams up to 800 mm long and fits a sliding prop on a 0–500 N load cell reading to 0.1 N. Two 0.01 mm dial gauges track deflection, and the prop can be removed to run plain cantilever tests.
