When cube results are in doubt or an existing structure must be assessed, cores taken from the concrete itself settle the question. We supply electric core drills on rig stands in two power classes, a petrol-driven drill for sites without power, a vacuum-base drill for small cores and a cutting machine for trimming cores and sawing specimens. Core diameter, drilling depth and site power decide the choice. Cores drilled and trimmed with this range meet ASTM C42 and BS EN 12504-1.

How to specify
- Core diameter should be at least three times the maximum aggregate size; 100 mm suits most structural concrete.
- Anchor the rig with an expansion bolt or vacuum base; a moving rig makes tapered, unusable cores.
- Order bits a little longer than the core length you need plus trimming allowance.
