Pressuremeters — Geotechnical Field Testing Equipment

Pressuremeter and dilatometer tests load the borehole wall directly, giving deformation modulus and limit pressure that feed straight into pile and foundation settlement design. We supply Ménard-type pressuremeters, digital units with automatic volume and pressure logging, high-pressure rock dilatometers, probe sets in several diameters and flat dilatometers for soft to medium soils. Ground stiffness, borehole size and required pressure decide the configuration. Typical references include ASTM D4719 and BS EN ISO 22476-4 for pressuremeters and ASTM D6635 for the flat dilatometer.

How to specify

  1. Borehole quality controls pressuremeter results, so size the probe to your drilling bit.
  2. Use a slotted protective tube in gravel or loose soils where the membrane may be cut.
  3. Carry spare membranes and sheaths; they are consumables on every job.
