Dispersive clays erode internally when water flows through them, and they have caused piping failures in dams and channel banks. We offer a standard pinhole apparatus, a pinhole unit with digital flow measurement, a three-station pinhole bench, a crumb test kit and a double hydrometer set. Most dam projects run pinhole and crumb tests together, with the double hydrometer as a third check. Our apparatus follows ASTM D4647, ASTM D6572 and ASTM D4221.
