A level is only as good as the staff it reads, and every line needs ranging rods to mark stations clearly. We supply steel ranging rods in red and white bands, aluminium telescopic E-face staffs, folding wooden staffs for teaching, invar barcode staffs for digital levels and non-conductive fibreglass staffs for work near power lines. Graduation pattern, length, material and level type decide the choice. Precise invar staffs are specified in ISO 12858-1, and DIN 18703 covers conventional levelling staffs.

How to specify
- Match the staff face (E-pattern, chequer or barcode) to the level your crew uses.
- Always pair staffs with a circular staff bubble to hold them vertical.
- Check telescopic joints for wear; slack joints cause millimetre errors.
