Taped distances remain the reference for baseline checks, setting-out offsets and teaching chain surveying. We supply Class II steel open-reel tapes, fibreglass tapes for wet and electrical sites, invar baseline tapes for calibration work, metric link chains and long steel band tapes on winding crosses. Length, accuracy class, coefficient of expansion and whether the site has live cables decide the choice. Accuracy classes follow OIML R 35-1, while setting-out practice is described in ISO 4463-1.
