Flaky and elongated particles break easily, compact poorly and raise the water demand of concrete, so particle shape limits appear in most road and concrete specifications. We make BS and IS slotted thickness gauges, pin-type length gauges, EN bar sieve sets, and mechanical and digital proportional calipers. Your specification decides the choice more than anything else, since each standard defines shape differently. Typical references are BS 812-105.1, BS EN 933-3 and ASTM D4791.
