Indirect tensile strength, before and after moisture conditioning, is the standard check that a mix will not strip in service. We offer a digital ITS machine, a breaking head jig for Marshall and gyratory specimens, a vacuum saturation set, a freeze-thaw conditioning freezer and a servo-pneumatic stiffness modulus tester. Specimen size, conditioning method and whether you need stiffness as well as strength decide the choice. The range covers AASHTO T 283, ASTM D6931 and BS EN 12697-23, plus stiffness to BS EN 12697-26.

How to specify
- Saturate to 70–80 % before freezing, as AASHTO T 283 requires.
- Use 12.7 mm loading strips for 101.6 mm specimens and 19.05 mm for 150 mm.
- Choose stiffness testing if you will use results for pavement design.
